Configuring Your Data Sync: Bidirectional and Unidirectional Options

By default, Getint facilitates data integration in a bidirectional manner. However, you have the flexibility to configure the synchronization to operate unidirectionally, transferring data either from the left app to the right app or vice versa.

This adjustment can be made at a detailed level, allowing for precise control over specific fields. This granularity means that within any given integration scenario (e.g., task-to-task), it's possible to have certain fields synchronized bidirectionally, while others are configured to sync from left to right, and yet others from right to left.

To tailor the synchronization to your preferences, simply use the directional arrows provided in the setup process.

Manually Adjusting Your Field Mapping Sync: On Create/On Update

In your type mapping, you can customize the action for each field mapping to determine whether a particular field will be set up by us or not. This allows each field mapping to operate independently based on your preferences.

Just click on the field mappings to switch their color from gray to off-white. This indicates that the field mapping below won’t trigger new actions on update, only for newly created items.

Controlling Sync Direction: Advanced Settings

With Getint, you can manage the synchronization direction of items to match the configured type mapping by going to the Advanced section.

  1. Please go to your type mapping configuration and click on Advanced.

  1. Enable Customize create/update actions and specify how items synchronize in each app. For instance, you can configure one-way sync options for the left app, allowing only new items to transfer from one side while updates synchronize bidirectionally.

Remember to click Apply and save your integration to submit your changes. These effects will be applied to all new tasks and updates.
