We bring advanced data storage options for the consolidation of your integration activities. This will be a game-changing feature, which will allow you to have unprecedented control over your integration records and logs never seen before. This is a big leap forward in flexible data management, with a beginner-friendly interface and advanced features for power users. This update places power in the user's hands and provides an outstanding user experience tailor-made to individual requirements.
A change at the core of Getint in the latest update is changing the way users previously handled their integration records and logs. Fully appreciating the nature of these data elements' import to running businesses, Getint has introduced a wide range of options to meet its wide base of users' needs. This feature not only eases the users' problem of knowing where, what, or how to detect the problem but also gives the users the decision for how long their data stays according to their requirements.
This feature is available under the settings page:
This means that logs can be accessed immediately, giving the user a chance to solve small setup issues before logging in to support tickets. Access to the error logs and history is thus immediate and strongly supports low downtime and high operational efficiency.
The new feature now allows log retention duration for users who want to set the duration at any point in time to ensure they flexibly meet compliance and operation efficiency.
Data safety is one of the biggest concerns of the current century, and we made it possible for users to even encrypt their logs. This feature was added by default in the last release and now, in the next one, it allows you to create a second layer of protection for the sensitive information retained in the logs.
Risk of losing important logs
While this provides custom retention periods, there's a danger of setting some values too low and subsequently losing critical logs. The user has to make sure in his settings not to land into added complications on future troubleshooting.
Irretrievability of older logs
After retaining logs over the stipulated period, it is impossible to retrieve the discarded logs. Users have to be very strategic in how to keep their logs, perhaps with routine checks and backup logs to circumvent such restrictions.
Getint's user interface now includes specific options for streamlined data storage management:
Enable Logs Storage: This toggle feature allows users to activate or deactivate log storage and define the log retention duration. By default, logs surpassing this duration are automatically deleted.
Logs Minimum Level and HTTP Requests Logging: These settings give the users greater control over log granularity. This ensures essential details and HTTP requests are trackable for in-depth debugging
Access the Setting: Navigate to the "Logs minimum level" dropdown menu in your system settings.
Select New Level: Click on the dropdown, and you'll see two options for the severity level of the logs that can be recorded. These levels typically range from less to more severe as follows:
DEBUG
: Provides detailed information, typically of interest only when diagnosing problems, necessary for support and troubleshooting
INFO
: Confirmation that things are working as expected, basic information about the runs.
Choose a Level: To determine the level of logs you want to be recorded, consider your specific needs. If you want to capture both typical and unexpected events, you might choose the INFO level. On the other hand, if you're only interested in errors and more severe issues, you might want to choose the DEBUG level.
Save the Changes: After choosing the desired level, make sure to save the changes by clicking the "Save" button located at the bottom of the settings page.
Encryption of Log Files: When enabled, information in the logs is protected through encryption. Users can secure sensitive log data through encryption, enhancing the protection against unauthorized data breaches.
To leverage the full potential of Getint's data storage feature, users should:
Regularly Review Log Retention Settings: Frequent reviews ensure that log retention aligns with operational and compliance needs.
Leverage Analytics: Analyzing historical data requirements before setting retention durations can prevent premature log deletion.
Prepare for Future Updates: Stay informed about Getint's development roadmap to take advantage of upcoming features that could further optimize data management.
Getint has introduced a new data storage feature that offers users more flexibility and improved security in managing their data. By understanding the advantages and limitations of this feature, and by navigating the updated interface, businesses can make the most of this update to optimize their integration processes. With the strategic use of this feature, Getint users can ensure that their operations remain efficient, secure, and compliant with evolving data governance policies.
