Atlassian Jira Monday.com integration

Remember, to be logged in as a user with admin rights.
Click "Select App", select Jira.
Then select "Create New" to create a new connection with the Jira instance.
Name your connection whatever you like.
Add URL of your Jira instance (without "/" in the end).
Add Login of the admin user, you need to be logged in as one.
Type your password, if it's Jira Server.
If it's Jira Cloud, you need to generate Jira Token - as shown on the video below.
When the connection is established, select Jira project you'd like to use for integration.
If need to establish new connection with the Monday.com instance, you need to generate token, to use it as a password. Here is the video on how to do it:

When you're testing out the tool, the best approach is to get strictly to the low hanging fruit, to your first win :) So we suggest to start with just a basic integration of one Jira field, and "Item" on the Monday.com side.
When this setup works, it's easy to show to proof of concept, and start more advanced settings later on.

Getint.io allows you to go wild with almost all the fields you want to integrate.
But first, you need to make sure you've created the fields in both Jira project, and Monday.com board. Jira usually comes with many of them already being created - in Monday.com, you need to create them first.
- "Title" comes out of the box.
- "Description" in Jira, should me mapped to the text field, that you need to create first in Monday.com.
- Status - map existing fields, and remember to uncheck "On create" and "On update" fields on both sides
- If you want to map "Assignees", map them to "Person" field in Monday.com
- If you want to map "ID" field from Jira, create the text field in Monday.com, and map it
- If you want to map "URL" field from Jira, create the text field in Monday.com, and map it
Use this scenario to any other field you need to integrate.

When field mapping is complete, you need to setup some fields more specifically. One of those fields, that require additional mapping, is "Assignees/Person". Click the cog icon. and map the users.

Go to the "Status" tab, and map the statuses.
The best practice is to have same number of statuses in both projects/tools you integrate. But if that can't be done, you can map more than 1 statuses from one tool, to just one on the other side.

Go to the "comments & attachments" section.
Comment sync is enabled automatically - check if the settings are as you with them to be, if not, modify the setting.
If you want to enable attachments sync, click the checkbox shown below.
You can specify, if you want attachments to be synced in one direction, or bi directional.

When one setting is done, you can proceed to other Types. In Monday.com, you just have Items. It's more complicated on the Jira side, where you have Tasks, Bugs, Stories, and more. If you need them to be integrated, you need to do the mapping. You can use the setting you already did in other type mapping (if you don't want to map users, and statuses again), or you can create a new one.
